With images of the devastation caused by the Great Tohoku earthquake and tsunami still fresh in our minds, we are now witnessing the greatest humanitarian crisis in decades in the Horn of Africa. The imperative of building disaster resilience is the common thread between these very different but equally tragic events.

Multilateral and bilateral donors engaged in a high level dialogue to discuss how humanitarian and development policy makers can work together to support the common objective of building resilience in communities and nations.
