Trudeau, love him or hate him, is easily one of the most important historical Canadian figures of the second half of the twentieth century. P.E.T. was a true liberal. He believed that government had an important role in the lives of citizens, and oversaw the growth of a broad social safety net to help the underprivileged and disadvantaged. He believed that rule of law, as defined in a written constitution, was crucial in the development of democracy and a nation – state. He was a true pioneer in the Canadian version of multiculturalism and supported Lester Pearson’s initiatives and later his own. Bilingualism was very much his baby though he did not conceive it himself.

I am not sure what you mean “how he changed the world views”. If I read that correctly I think you mean either how did he change the international community’s view of Canada, or perhaps how did he change Canadians’ view of the world. I will go with the former. Canada’s presence in the world certainly changed during his time. He met nearly all of the most important world leaders of the day and clearly took orders from no one. Trudeau’s critics were many as were his admirers. His great intelligence and aloofness was often mistaken for arrogance, but in reality he did not believe himself to be better than any on else. He just tired of those who refused to believe that he was taking Canada in the right direction. One thing for sure where he was spot on was in his assessment of what the future (now current) migration and relocation of people. He foresaw the world as a community with various ethnic and language groups being citizens of the same country. In Canada, it would no longer be a English – French country with a few smaller ethnic groups dispersed across the land. P.E.T. was correct. We, and most western nations, would become conglomerates of people whose roots would be in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, China, Vietnam, Italy, Guatemala, Mexico, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Greece, Egypt, Chad, Russia and on and on we go. Modern Canada’s cultural and ethnic makeup is a direct result of Trudeau’s personal philosophy of the world and his government’s policies.

Water and sanitation: a partnership for change

This video shows the International Federation Global Water and Sanitation Initiative (GWSI) in action at the Zambia Red Cross Society “Rural Water Supply Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Project” In our world today: • more than one billion people do not have access to clean water; • over two billion people do not have adequate sanitation facilities; • some four million people die each year from diseases associated with the lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene • 4000 children under five years old die every day from those same associated diseases. Added to this, in times of disaster and crises, the urgency to meet basic water and sanitation needs saves lives, reduces diseases and restores dignity. The overall water and sanitation challenge is best expressed in the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in particular goals 2, 3, 4 and 7, which have water and sanitation components. Our response is therefore to set our targets as a contribution to meeting those goals. The Global Water and Sanitation Initiative (GWSI) Over the last ten years, the International Federation has established and consolidated a water and sanitation vision, policy and capacity to better address two principle global challenges. 1. Acute water and sanitation challenges, mostly related to crises and disasters, where there is the urgency to provide basic needs to save lives, contain or reduce health threats and restore dignity. 2. Chronic water and sanitation

It examines the possible impact of their rapid growth on both industrialized and developing countries. The essential question is whether these four countries could be the new engines of growth for the world economy. The answer depends on the nature of their transformation and catch-up, which could span half a century or longer. Even so, rapid growth in these large emerging economies is already beginning to change the balance of economic power in the world. Yes you can. At a junior college you only get the general ed classes that everyone is required. When you get an AA is just means you took more classes in a particular study but you only needed i believe 60 credits to trasnfer which when you do you can select your major.

what would need to exist for a species to evolve quickly to a sudden environmental change.?

Question by drizzy: what would need to exist for a species to evolve quickly to a sudden environmental change.?
Is the answer resources?? need further details.

They would need to have lots of diversity in population, and for atleast one organism to have genes that enable it to survive and pass it on. But this is only in bacteria and smaller organisms that can evolve quickly. Most likely in larger animals if a sudden change occurred Species would have to adapt to the change or Die. Evolution happens over course of millions years before species become a new species.

Career Change from Electronics to Environmental Engineering?

Question by mars3015: Career Change from Electronics to Environmental Engineering?
Hello,

After 10 years in high tech (microelectronics) engineering I am considering moving to Environmental Engineering Sciences.
I am very passionate about this area and do a lot of volunteering and so on.

I am now 33, not married. Do you think this kind of change is advisable, and what are my job prospects, it would take about 1.5 years.

Best answer:

Answer by Stamatios D
Anything you are passionate about is worth pursuing as you will enjoy what you’ll be doing, be good at it, and therefore be successful, even at this stage of your life.
Microelectronics was the flavor of the month in the 80s and 90s, but I am not so sure now, as the industry is now limited to a few giant companies and the average company finds it very hard to invest the capital for CAE and undertake a huge risk (NRE costs).
On the other hand, everyone is worried about the environment, so perhaps there are better job prospects there.
Good luck with your decision!

Q&A: When will Yahoo Answers Change the Environmental Listing to Climate Change?

Question by Wood Smoke ~ Free2Bme!: When will Yahoo Answers Change the Environmental Listing to Climate Change?
In the past Y/A has attempted to keep accurate about what they offer, it is a complete disregard for them to only have Global Warming as a category without it being a sub category of Climate Change.

Global Warming is a subcategory of Climate Change. If one only sees a bit of a fact, they are less likely to consider all the facts, if you show the entire picture, it makes more sense.

Why isn’t Climate Change a category?

I doubt they ever do that. It would be nice but I doubt it happens.
