Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) December 05, 2011

Everyone is talking about the economy, but feels helpless to do anything about it. From executives to street vendors, no one feels secure in their future. There is no shortage of talk. There is a shortage of answers. Well, here they are. Econovation challenges business leaders and 99%ers alike, to think differently about the U.S. economy and respond with big, sustainable innovations. Written by Fortune 100 innovator and futurist Steve Faktor, Econovation: The Red, White, and Blue Pill For Arousing Innovation (John Wiley & Sons; $ 34.95, December 2011), is not for the faint of heart. As Steve explains, “think of Econovation as a trends book on steroids. It’s bursting with practical, thought-provoking ideas no executive, entrepreneur, or Fed chairman can afford to miss.”

Econovation uncovers opportunities in unexpected places – in a future where a massive shift from labor to capital is quickly making most jobs unnecessary. In this book you’ll learn how to:

•Capitalize on a market that will go from making nothing to making everything . . . for China

•Use psychological pricing and some crafty tricks from Google to reduce reliance on tapped-out consumers

•Sell to consumers whose new identities will be based on what they create, not what they buy, click or super-size

•Seduce a desperate government to finance your business, then feed you pancakes in the morning

•Motivate tomorrow’s employees with social currency instead of the green, depreciating kind

•Upgrade your business and your kids with a little help from Mormons and kindergartners with hacksaws

Econovation is a fresh perspective on a future we’ve taken for granted. It empowers readers to think big, dream big, and conquer economic conditions that will paralyze others. With hefty doses of data, humor, and actionable ideas, Econovation offers insight and amusement in one convenient place—a rare treat for a business book.

Air Freshener Manufacturing Industry Report Now Available from IBISWorld

Air Freshener Manufacturing Industry Report Now Available from IBISWorld

IBISWorld Market Research

(PRWEB) December 29, 2011

A new report from IBISWorld forecasts that the Air Freshener Manufacturing industry will continue to experience growth over the five years to 2016. Continued economic improvements will likely boost overall consumer spending, which will encourage consumers to increase their spending on discretionary home goods like air fresheners. For this reason, industry research firm IBISWorld has added a report on the Air Freshener Manufacturing industry to its growing Houseware Manufacturing Report collection.

For more information, including latest Industry trends, statistics, analysis and market share information, purchase the full report from IBISWorld, the nation’s largest publisher of industry research on the Air Freshener Manufacturing Industry for $ 850.

Air Freshener Manufacturing Industry Overview

The Air Freshener Manufacturing industry has stayed fresh during the past five years, despite changes in consumer spending and economic conditions. Like many producers of discretionary household goods, demand for industry goods hiked when disposable income and consumer sentiment was high in 2006 and 2007. However, the economic recession led to a decline of consumer spending, especially on discretionary products, which caused industry revenue growth to slow in 2008 and decline in 2009. When the economy began to recover, consumers once again purchased air fresheners to improve the smell of their homes. From 2006 to 2011, revenue is expected to have increased. In 2011 alone, revenue has expanded, as consumer sentiment increases and consumers are willing to spend on little luxuries.

According to IBISWorld analyst, Mary Gotaas, in addition to changing consumer spending and a volatile economy, “the Air Freshener Manufacturing industry has weathered intense internal competition among players and changes in consumer preferences,’ says Gotaas. In response, small and large companies have diversified their product lines and introduced goods to cater to consumer preferences. For instance, more companies are offering natural and organic air fresheners in response to many Americans becoming more environmentally conscious.

From 2011 to 2016, revenue is projected to grow. Companies will continue to face intense competition from other industry operators and will improve products to meet new consumer trends. With consumer sentiment and disposable income anticipated to rise in the next five years, revenue is set to increase. Also, the industry will likely consolidate. Existing firms are expected to merge to expand product lines or take advantage of new technology innovations. Company numbers are anticipated to decrease in 2016. Nevertheless, this decline will be slightly offset by small companies entering the industry due to low barriers of entry and the ability to sell products over the internet.

Less Cancer Founder, Bill Couzens Takes a Look at Cancer Prevention

Less Cancer Founder, Bill Couzens Takes a Look at Cancer Prevention

Less Cancer Founder Bill Couzens

Rye, New Hampshire (PRWEB) December 22, 2011

Beginning with Nixon’s War on Cancer in 1971, cancer cure fundraisers have proliferated, Couzens writes. While Couzens appreciates those efforts, he argues in his post that more attention must go to how people live their lives and to striking down the causes of cancer. This reduction of risk focus means that people will have to live their lives differently.

That change includes radically altering our priorities: “As a culture, we have looked the other way as profit rose above human health and the environment,” Couzens writes.

Cancer has essentially become an expected stage of life and, in his post, Couzens cites startling statistics: between 1975 and 2004, of increased incidences of primary brain cancer that have increased nearly 40 percent, while leukemia has increased over 60 percent among children 14 years and younger. (Children’s Environmental Health Center-Mount Sinai) The work to reduce cancer risks also provides an opportunity to address other public health issues that may include diseases such as Obesity or even Asthma according to Couzens.

Other than the human toll, cancer’s economic pressure is astounding. Couzens cites worldwide cancer cost burden was $ 895 billion in 2008. (Lancet Oncology)

The time to begin a new fight against cancer, before it starts, is long past, Couzens argues. Now, we all must make up for lost time.

Couzens regularly speaks on human health and environment issues. The U.S. Congress has recognized Couzens’ work to reduce cancer risks. Couzens’ work includes Less Cancer launching the National Cancer Prevention Day, which Michigan and Virginia recognize on Feb. 4.
