Earth Day 2011, Good Friday

Tags for The Day:  Earth Day, Good Friday, Earth, Air, Water.. Environment, Ecology, Green Education, Green Energy.. Agriculture, Mining, Wars, Conflicts, Markets, Sports, Prayer, Pollution, Energy Saving Efforts..

These days, news channels on earth are full of updates from conflicting areas in Africa and recovery efforts after tsunami in Japan. Refugees and displaced people are seeking help for shelters and food. Wars and conflicts are our daily news menu. Peace is a scarce thing in many regions. Unemployment is ample all over the earth. Mining industry are face to face with anti-deforestation efforts. Awareness of good environment of the earth does not belong to all people yet. But..

Earth Day 2011 is Good Friday

“On the the Earth Day, April 22, we pray for greater care and common resposibility for Mother Earth, to make her sustainable as home for all humans and living creatures.” (Indonesian Catholic Church’s Monthly Intention of Prayer)

April 22 each year is now known to be Earth Day. On that day, we are invited to be aware of the Earth’s natural environment and to have a high appreciation of it. The United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day. More than 175 countries, globally coordinated by the Earth Day Network, celebrates Earth Day. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Day)

This year, April 22, 2011, is also Good Friday, Friday before Easter Sunday, a holliday, when Christians all over the world commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is believed that lord died on Good Friday and resurrected on Easter Sunday. Good Friday is called so because Christians believe that Jesus sacrificed his life for humanity and good of everyone. (Source: http://goodfriday2011.com) When the US Senator, Gaylord Nelson, chose Wednesday, April 22, 1970, as the first Earth Day, he determined the week of April 19–25 was the best bet as it did not fall during exams or spring breaks. Moreover, it did not conflict with religious holidays such as Easter or Passover, and was late enough in spring to have decent weather. He chose the date in order to maximize participation on college campuses for what he conceived as an “environmental teach-in” (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Day#Significance_of_April_22)

]]>

Since, against Nelson’s calculation, Earth Day is coincidentally Good Friday in 2011, we may be intrigued with ideas between the two good days. International Standard Version (©2008) of the Bible wrote: “Truly, I tell all of you with certainty, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it produces a lot of grain,” Jesus said (John 12:24). Jesus’ death was prophetically described as “a grain of wheat” which “fell” into the ground (read: earth) and died” in order to live further and “produce a lot of grain”. There we may observe the correlation of earth and life. As much as the wheat always grows and produces a lot of grain, Jesus Christ’s teachings started to spread all over the world and inspire the life of his followers who grow from then on to billions.

We may now just expect that Earth Day 2011 would inspire all nations to take care more of the ground on which they live. We encourage new commitments to save the earth from all kinds of abuse. Economic efforts should pay high attention to earth’s environments: the ground and all the living creatures on it; to less polluted earth, water and air; to better advanced technology to enhance life; to energy saving efforts; to peace among nations and less war; to less conflicts to solve all humankind’s problems. All people behind the tractors, shovels, mouses, bombers’ rudders, nuclear plants, nuclear weapons, energy plants, schools, markets, everywhere.., you are invited to love Mother Earth more since Earth Day 2011 on. Christians, you have the inspiration of life from your Teacher, Jesus Christ, to do more. More Search on Earth Day 2011 and Good Friday:

Proper Understanding of Environmental Responsibility

The important roles of a huge business just like Coke and McDonalds are consists of energy preserving, lessen the resources from the suppliers and reducing waste. This is all part of their Environmental Responsibility. By this, they maintains the green living and economical means.

On a smaller scale, many individuals are choosing to go “green” as well. No doubt, plastic bags are unconventional, but they are eco-friendly and easy to recycle. Why not use it instead of plastic? Discarded food also helps in composting other than bulk of waste. By this process, surely the green environment will improve! Companies with a new building project are exercising more “green” awareness as well.

Coca-Cola claims, “Our commitments are focused where we have the most opportunity to make a difference’water stewardship, sustainable packaging, energy management and climate protection.” Over the years we’ve seen the efforts made by Coca-Cola to support these commitments. One example that quickly comes to mind regarding Environmental Responsibility is the huge reduction in using plastic for containing 6-packs. Although bottles are still packaged with plastic, cans are now sold 12 in a box. By making this one change, going from plastic to cardboard, thousands of animals are no longer being harmed.

Regarding Environmental Responsibility, McDonalds claims, “We’ve long recognized the value of minimizing our environmental footprint. It’s not only good for the world in which we operate, it’s a strong contributor to our long-term financial success.” McDonalds doesn’t want to be known for its negative impacts, but rather for the positive strives its making. As per McDonalds, they’ve avoided 300 million pounds of product packaging if they minimize the use of materials! What can you do then to protect yourself and determine if the business is practicing good health and safety, and the staff good personal hygiene? Wow!!!

Environmental Responsibility has no exemptions. Even small or a large group should implement it. Here are the 3 things that they need to understand:

Energy conservation. Finding ways to increase energy efficiency.

Sustainable packaging and/or waste management. Finding ways to reduce the amount of waste tossed out every day and the materials used for packaging.

Green building design. Finding ways of becoming more environment efficient when a new building project is being considered.

Truth be known, these three areas also apply to each one of as individuals. Don’t you ask yourself, “Should throwing a garbage can impact the environment”?” Does it really matter if I use a ton of pesticides?” It does matter!

Furthermore, businesses should connect to different corporations like Conservation International and the World Wildlife Fund. These organizations can provide Environmental Responsibility awareness to businesses and can provide ideas for positive changes.

If you are the president or the executive of your company, you must implement an Environmental Responsibility. Whether it’s using a checklist, inviting an expert to come in and assess the positive and negative impacts your business has on the environment, or some other tool, you need to assess where your business is regarding Environmental Responsibility.

President Barack Obama has cancelled the Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards that would have significantly tightened rules to reduce emissions of smog-causing chemicals. The President stressed the need to “reduce regulatory burdens” as the struggling economy continues its recovery. The administration will follow the more lenient standards set in 2008 under President Bush until a scheduled reconsideration of acceptable pollution limits in 2013. The move further alienates many in a political base that feel the President hasn’t done enough to protect the environment and fight climate change. League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski said, “the Obama administration is caving to big polluters at the expense of protecting the air we breathe.” The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the tighter pollution rules would save around 12000 lives each year. But EPA administrator Lisa Jackson came to Obama’s defense saying, “the administration has put in place some of the most important standards and safeguards for clean air in US history.” According to a recent Pew research poll, 71% of Americans think the “country should do whatever it takes to protect the environment.” That wasn’t enough to convince the President whose reelection will ultimately be determined by his ability to create jobs and foster economic recovery. With this decision, Obama is clearly trying to avoid giving his republican opponents any ammunition to call his policies “job killers

Building Your Online Business – Interview The Experts On Your List To Increase Your Income

You can build your online business and connect with the people on your list if you take the time to interview some of them. This may not be a relationship you have heard about before, so please allow me to explain. When someone joins your list, it does not mean that they know nothing about your niche or have no experience on the Internet.

In fact, if you have been online for less than a year it is much more likely that your prospects know at least as much as you do about your topic. Instead of making them feel like you are the one with all of the knowledge and they are the ones who will learn from you, think about it as a way to build a relationship with them and to learn from each other in a mutually respectful way.

Encouraging them to email you with questions and comments and holding regular teleseminars will help you to find out who has information that may be of interest to your other prospects and clients. Once you have identified these people, ask them if you can interview them. This can be an excellent way of sharing information and resources, as well as finding future joint venture partners.

I was fortunate enough to connect with some experts who had joined my list from the very beginning. We were able to interview each other and grow our lists more quickly as a result. I then set out to find out what other hidden talents I could find from among my prospects. It turned out that many were published authors, public speakers, and entrepreneurs who had much more experience than I had. We continue to help each other in our quest to build our online businesses. Most recently I have connected with one of my students who is an action habits coach. This means that she helps people to take action with what they are learning on the Internet, saving them money, raising their self-esteem, and helping them to make better choices about building their own businesses.

Right now I am coaching her to increase her visibility and her income so that she may help even more people. The bottom line is that we are all working together to achieve our goals each day. Find out as much as you can about the people on your list, and then work alongside one another to develop a web of people who will help each other to increase their marketing efforts exponentially. Interview them as a part of your business and promote each other on the Internet so everyone will benefit.

Remember that the reason to start an internet business is to give you the time and money to live the life you choose. Be a fly on the wall and watch as I coach one of my students to 10K a month by visiting 10K Laser Coaching and build your own online business.
